The Youth Mental Health First Aid course is for adults working or living with adolescents (those aged between 12 and 18 years), however, the course can be relevant for those helping people who are a little younger or older. This course is particularly suitable for parents, school staff, sports coaches, and youth workers.
The approach is inclusive and warm and I have techniques to soften the tough conversation while maintaining a safe environment to share and learn.

Phillippa is committed to empowering communities and breaking down the stigma of mental health. She travels to remote and regional areas to bring workshops and critical conversations to communities. She is a high-energy country girl from NZ who has worked across 4 industries with over 20 years of facilitation experience in Aviation, the Wine Industry, Youth at Risk and prisons. After building a successful wine wholesale business with over $3M in annual turnover, she sold it after witnessing 3 generations drinking her wine in a public park at 9 o’clock in the morning.
After working with at-risk youth for 2 ½ years and reaching over 740 participants, her own personal challenges caught up with her and she redirected her focus on empowering as many people as possible to be confident in giving mental health first aid to friends, family, peers and strangers.
Phillippa’s captivating style leads the workshop participants on a journey of discovery. Her passion for breaking down the stigma of mental health leaves you in no doubt about why she’s well equipped to facilitate Mental Health First Aid and to help individuals to understand why they must put their own mental health first.
My vision for The Sharing Shed is to increase community awareness as first responders, to eliminate suicide and stigma on mental health illness. To help achieve this I have a bus that I travel around in and it starts great conversations.
Sharing your feelings helps shed your loneliness.
